Blogging Basics

What's a Blog?

A blog resembles a website but usually has a lot more written content than a website. A blog can be created on just about any subject. People mainly write blogs about subjects that they are very passionate about. Preferably about things that they know a lot about. Areas of expertise are great ideas for creating a blog. For example if a person is a teacher, they can create a blog for teachers.

Selling Products

Money can be generated through a blog by becoming an affiliate marketer and selling products on the blog. Product reviews can be written or a person could just simply place product or service ads on the blog. Usually ads are placed on the blog by using a HTML code within the blog. The products should be relevant to the blog title and the blog post. Products can be sold through Amazon by becoming an Amazon associate at www.amazon.com or by using a platform like Clickbanks at www.clickbank.com to sell digital products.

Selling Ad Space

At the end of a blog or on the sidebars, there could be a notification that ad space is available if anyone would like to purchase space. I would include the price of the spaces available and the size of the spaces available and maybe even a sample ad. It would be a great idea to sell ad space to people that have blogs or businesses that are relevant to the blog.

How to Create a Blog?

There are places online that will allow people to create blogs absolutely free. A blog can be created free through wordpress or through blogger. Once a free account has been created then careful thought should be considered about the title of the blog. This should be a catchy title. Then new blog post should be done at least three times or more a week if any real money should be generated.

Writing Content That Sells?

The content that is written should not be boring at all. It should be very interesting, something that people will want to read. It's almost like writing a newspaper column. If the news is boring people will not have a good reason to return to it or want to subscribe to the blog. People enjoy reading material that helps them to learn about subjects or topics of interest. Make sure that your content is original and you use photos that are copyright free or photos of your own. If the search engines find out that content is copied, they will penalize the blog by decreasing the amount of views the blog gets.

Make Money From Mylikes

Adding hyperlinks to a blog is an easy way to earn money from a blog. By creating a free account through Mylikes, links can be added to a blog through a pay-per-click program that they have. There are links that can be chosen from different topic areas that can be added to a blog. I usually add links to my blog that are similar to the topic of my blog. When people click on these links, then Mylikes will pay a certain amount of money depending upon how many people click on these ads. There are many pay-per-click programs online. Google AdSense is another way to get paid by people clicking on these ads.

Blog Promotion

Having a great blog is not enough in terms of wanting to earn money from it. If no one knows about the blog or if there are no subscribers then chances are the blog won't earn a person a dime. Blogs can be promoted in many ways. One way is by using social media. Links can be added to sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linked-in, Pinterest, and Twitter. When ever a new post is made, there should be a new link added to social media sites. Blog post can also be submitted to search engines like Ping at www.pingomatic.com. Once they are submitted to search engines, they will become more noticeable online.

Another way to get noticed is by offer something free to subscribers like a ten or twenty paged electronic book about the subject or topic of your blog. Some people offer contest and things to make their blog more interesting. Using unique marketing tactics will help a blog get noticed and in time earn money.

Blogging is a fun way to share information about subjects and topics of expertise. Helping people solve problems by providing information is a great way to achieve success in the blogging business. I would like to say that a persons blog is their business in terms of making money. There are people that have even quit their day job blogging and believe it or not some are even online millionaires blogging. This information can even be researched to see how accurate it is. Try doing a search online for millionaire bloggers and see what happens or top paid bloggers. Take a look at their blogs and see what they are doing.

To make a successful blog, a person would need to make their blog outshine other blogs and try doing different things with the blog. If there are hundreds of blogs about couponing, then try a different topic. If a topic is chosen that is similar to others, this is fine but make your blog different in some way. Don't be afraid to be different and even daring. You can blog your way to success and earn a lot of money doing so!
